Voodoo Hoodoo ... Or rather, hoodunit and why. This book by Bill Craig will keep you awake. Well, it did for me given the devilishness afoot in this well-paced plot. Decker is his usual taken-no-prisoners self, and just as well as he, Rafe and Seminole Joe take on the walking dead. Great yarn, that only suffers from the lack of an editor who can spell!Product details

Decker PI Running the voodoo Down edition by Bill Craig Judy Bullard Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
Poorly developed plot. Full of errors and typos...seemed like an editor never saw it. I would avoid this one unless you have absolutely nothing else to do. A nap, anyone?
Sam Decker, a private investigator, DEA agent, saw clues that others missed. He never liked dirty, or, lazy cops. Carly Kinnebrew hated the sight and aroma of White Orchids. Her whole being shuddered when her mind was forced to recall terrifying events, the rituals that He had performed, the sacrifices to the horrific gods He worshipped. These memories sickened her. She desperately needed a gris-gris to protect her from Mr. Death, the White Orchid man. He would take her to meet Baron Samedi, Lord of the Dead. Samedi' s Tomb would overflow with demon dancers. Carley knew her stalker.
Rafael, a refugee kid from Cuba, a Recon Marine, a CIA drug enforcer, now a private investigator knew about New Orleans mojo. He was no stranger to voodoo. It always set him on edge. He didn't scoff. He had seen the power work, as a child in Cuba, in Miami, even in darkest Africa where it had originated. Spirits talked to Nora. They brought back memories. Like her parents, she too, feared the Loa.
Mama Celeste warned Decker, "you best find dat little girl quick. Very bad man has her, gonna do terrible t'ings to her 'lessen you stop him. He has an army..." With the speed of a striking rattlesnake the world had been picked up and was shaken violently. Who, what, where was the White Orchid man? Why was he stalking Carly? Why did he want her? Why was she useful, or necessary to him? Decker and Rafael would have to play rougher. Why did a rat voodoo priest, a favorite of many gods, want this particular girl?
Dana Mykel had found Carly as a young damaged kid singing for tips. Dana got her coaches, molded her into a preeminent jazz singer, then fell in love with her. Then, Carly left Dana for Vicki Sambra, a practicing voodoo priestess. Decker had become the protector of the Glades. Why was the name Henri Labeaux so important. Decker was suddenly missing his place on Scorpion Cay, a lot. He tried to throw-off a haunting vision of zombies dancing over the cypress knots, dark water swirling beneath. He would much prefer listening to Miles Davis. A very interesting read.
Pretty good mystery. But the spelling was so bad it was distracting. I can't remember reading a book with spelling as bad as this one. Probably be awhile before I read another Bill Craig.
Another sloppy book by Bill Craig. Any reader could easily be a better proof reader and catch the incredible number of plot errors and even spelling errors this book has.
Loved it
