Any war presents challenges and hardships. The Vietnam War was the war nobody wanted. Instead of creating heroes, members of the military were subjected to abuse and hostility on returning home.
Maggie and Charley, high school and college sweethearts in California were planning their marriage on graduation. As one of the first military "Advisors" sent by President John F. Kennedy to Vietnam before a police action was declared, Charley went missing in action, presumed dead. He had actually been running covert operations with his Special Forces team behind enemy lines.
Maggie married on the rebound and had her heart broken once again when military maneuvers ended her marriage. She headed to Australia with good friends, Jan and Carol, to teach and forget all she had lost. Australia in the 1960's was the new frontier offering clean air, friendly people, and coastal towns with beautiful harbors. It gave her a chance for a new start until her life took an unexpected and dangerous turn. The business of spies and witness relocation stepped in to complicate a love she thought she had lost forever.
Truths are disguised in this work of fiction and based on real defining moments in the Vietnam War. Australia is the backdrop for Maggie's love affair with a country offering peace and safety after the disharmony created by a hell of a war.
